My Dad purchased a 1968 Chrysler Newport Custom 2 Door in Gold/w Black pinstriping, with 383 C.I.D Engine with 2 barrel carburetor It was My Mom's car for lot years until 1983. My dad sold car with 150,000 miles no rusted out body panels. Lot room in back seat for my Sister and Myself. My wanted 1968 Chrysler Newport loaded power windows and A/C my Mom said NO to power windows because of my sister and Myself being 2 and 3 years old. Green 4 door did not have clock My Mom's car did, my Dad would always moving clock hands ahead. We did not have air conditioning. Just A.M. radio no F.M.

My father bought one of this exact model in 1968, but scrapped it 7 years later due to a broken frame! These cars were not designed for Canadian winter salted roads.

I purchased one in 1974 with 63,000 on it for 350 bucks.

Still has its Flight Pitch Dyna-Flow. Impossible to get parts for them today. Many were converted to Variable Pitch when the cars were new. GM offered a kit to do the job.

Rough condition but restorable, for one reason: it's all there. Always better starting with a "whole" car. Obviously needs a repaint and a new interior. If the motor tests well on compression, a real cleanup and outside repaint. It'd be nice.

The craftmanship and attention to detail these cars possessed is insane. Especially when compared to the bland plastic thoughtless interiors that would follow in the 80's and beyond...

My mom had a '64 SUPERCHARGED STARFIRE, THE CAR WAS A ROCKET SHIP. I wish we still had it.

I was the proud owner of a white 1959 Dynamic 88 Oldmobile Convertible! No, it was not as nice as this one, but I really liked that car. The 394 CI V8 had plenty of power for this large car. There's nothing like cruising with the top down on a sumer evening. A little side story for Olds lovers - the top was worn out. I discovered you could buy a new top through the Sears & Roebuck catalog. I took one look at the new top and the "How to" instruction manual and knew this project was beyond my skills. I called the local Sear store and ask if they installed their new convertible tops. Not only did they install them, but the cost was only $150. Needless to say, I was at their shop the next day.

I remember seeing a brand new Starfire as a kid. A proud customer on my paper route had bought one. The distinctive chrome strip along the side panels was awesome. The cars paint was a shade of light violet. I was 11 yrs old. Them's were the days...

These cars actually have a genuine performance engine ,the 350 pontiac in this has 2.12 intake &1.66 exhaust 400 heads ,pontiac 350 has a longer 3.75 stroke they have better low end torque than a chevy 350.it comes on at 600 -1000 rpm lower .They also have nice suspenion rear sway bar .one of the better cars in 1974.

My brother’s first new car was a ‘55 Windsor coupe, black with a white top and red interior. Gorgeous car.
